Edition of 26 unique prints on Hahnemühle paper
Seven different phones, rendered inoperable during Arctic travels since 2018, their shattered screen protectors reflecting the harsh impact of the extreme environment. These screen protectors were used as printing plates in a direct intaglio printing process; each print is unique due to the continued fracturing of the glass going through the printing press.
The tension fractures and fine lines astonishingly resemble the ice of the surroundings, the glaciers and floes that were captured behind the screen in the black box of the phone‘s inner life, somewhere between memory and the cloud.
